Orientation started today which is kind of exciting- there is a new crop of seminary students that have arrived, the profs are back arround campus and and all the returning students are, well, returning back to campus and these last few days have been quite fun (and quite busy) as we are gearing up for the upcoming term. As the AV person it means a lot of running arround, but it also gives me the opportunity to meet a lot of the new class, and I even had a few of them over yesterday for games.
In other "news" I went to the RedBull Flugtog this weekend at the newly renamed Lady Bird Lake. That was pretty fun although it was quite hot and there were a ridiculous number of people there. The flugtog is an event that apparently travels arround the world where people build human powered "flying apparatus(es)" and launch them of a 30 foot platform into the river. I don't think many of them flew, most of them seemed to fall pretty quickly, but it was amazing to see the amount of creativity that went into the crafts and the costumes. They also started off the event with some pretty amazing sky divers- it was a good afternoon/evening.
Lastly, my friends Tom and Allison are at the any moment now stage of when their baby is comming. It looks like the newest Gale will be arriving a week ir two ahead of schedule. I am excited for them.
That's the latest from me. SPM orientation tomorrow and classes start this coming Tuesday! Year two- ready or not!
