the good ole North State

Hi all-
Made it to NC yesterday, and now have a few days before the CPE program starts, so I am trying to use the time to catch up with people and get things ready for work on Monday (things like pre-employment drug screening to name as an example). It was rainy and cold here today- something like in the fifties. Crazy weather.
Not really anything exciting to report as of yet- Georgia was a good visit. Played the Wii with one of my cousins and realized that at least with the tank game- I suck at playing the Wii. Found a tick on my back this evening that has probably been there since Sunday when we took a walk in the woods at my dad's house- hoping nothing comes from that.
Beyond that- just trying to study off and on for the ords.

Georgia on my mind!

Hi all-
So I got up early Wednesday morning and drove from Austin to Atlanta, 934 miles. Left at 6:30am CT and arrived at 10:11 EST- or 13 hours and 40 minutes later. Made for a long day but I made exceptional time with little to no traffic or other driving concerns. So- one more leg to go, which I will do on Tuesday. Anyways, I am here in Georgia to celebrate my father's 60th birthday which is tomorrow. Yesterday night we went and saw Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skulls- which it was pretty good- campy in parts, but then again, they all are. So I say- go see it.
I guess I ought to be going now.

Long day tomorrow and fun one yesterday...

Hi all-

Last post from Austin for a while. Off to Atlanta tomorrow and then NC for the summer. Thanks and congrats to all my friends who are graduating this weekend, sorry I will miss the fun.

Speaking of fun, yesterday the girls and I made a day trip to Waco- checked out their zoo, had some good Tex-Mex and then went the Dr Pepper Museum. It was a great day. Topped it off with a few beers at the local Flying Saucer with some more friends. Not a bad way to spend a day.

Melissa and I competed in the Rookie again this year, to celebrate the one year anniversary of the first Tri I ever did. This year, about the same as last. I am debating about registering for one down at the beach in Wilmington at the end of June...

2) Go see Iron Man- it's pretty cool.

3) The little green line that I wrote about a while ago- well, now it has a friend. So sometimes, I either have one line, two lines or no lines at all. Weird.

Mayday!

Ok, May is here... that's weird. Now officially begins the 13 month crunch (as I like to call it) where the next several months will be rather life-altering/determining/changing and it all begins with finishing. Finishing this term. Writing those 6 or 7 papers that I have left to do. So, on that note, dear readers, I imagine my blogging will be sporadic at best until the 15th- because, up until today, I was like, oh, those papers are due next month, those are future Carrie's problems (yes, that is a nod to the show 'How I met Your Mother'), and now I have run out of excuses and must try to focus on being a student- and yes, I realize starting out this month by blogging, and therefore procrastinating, is an excellent way to start....
But, I also realize, it's been several days since I last posted. The major thing that has happened since, is the Relay for Life. We had a good time at Relay until about 10pm, and then the weather came upon us in torrential rain formation, fortunately, my team had the insight to begin packing up all the tents, chairs, and other supplies we brought and were able to keep our stuff dry. The Relay then moved into one of the gyms where it was packed with seemingly hundreds of middle school students, and we only lasted in the noise and confusion until midnight.
Next week is the last week of lectures, followed by Reading Week and then finals week. I will head for the east coast in three weeks. And somewhere in the midst of paper writing and procrastination, I need to go and wait in line at the Social Security office to apply for my new card, figure out the mail situation, talk to the gym, run in a triathlon, and attend all these meetings the school has scheduled for rising seniors... So, the pressure is on. And once I hit June 2nd- forget about it, between my CPE, studying for Ords and being on call, I imagine the summer will be a blur, then drive back to Texas, take those Ords, and then up to Oklahoma for a few months...
Like I said, these next thirteen months are going to be a blur, and, as a senior, they are going to be filled with questions, questions about call, questions about the future... I feel a little like screaming MayDay! Help! etc, etc....
